A self-made man from Milan: in 1953, at the age of just 30, Giacinto Chiesa founded the company Italmondo together with three partners. The company’s first headquarters in Milan was strategically located, right next to a customs office.
Thanks to the founder’s expertise and foresight, Italmondo developed rapidly, expanding its operations to include transport to the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany, amongst other destinations. The company made a name for itself as a specialist in dangerous goods and chemical products, working for industry giants such as Hoechst and Montecatini.
Air and sea freight were added to the range of logistics solutions and road transport services. Italmondo evolved into the ITLM Group, with 28 branches worldwide, over 1,500 employees, a full-service logistics offering and a stable network of partners.
In 2000, Italmondo became a system partner in our general cargo cooperation. The company, now in its third generation of family ownership, and ONLINE Systemlogistik have been working together successfully for 26 years. One major thing we have in common is our high standard of quality.
Our quality manager and auditor Andreas Nowotny (OSL) and auditor Peggy Wenzel (GreenAhead) were able to see this yesterday as part of the internal matrix certification process. The certification covers audits in accordance with DIN EN ISO 9001 for quality management, DIN EN ISO 14001 for environmental management, and HACCP for hygiene management and food safety. Further international partner audits are planned for the coming months.
