Weser, Elbe, Rhine – that’s it, and we’re fine! The first of our last three audits this year took our lead auditor Andreas Nowotny to Göllner Spedition in Nienburg on the Weser River. The history of the Göllner Group began there in 1878. Since then, the company has grown, including spreading to international locations. Göllner became a partner of ONLINE Systemlogistik in 1997. The company’s strategies for the future include intermodal transport – especially to Eastern Europe – and sustainability – both ecological and social. Göllner Spedition’s removal service has a long tradition. Their colourful van, decorated with graffiti, can be seen on the road for removals.
Hamburg, the gateway to the world, is a good base for the transport and logistics services that IGS Schreiner provides. Nationally or worldwide: goods are transported from here by truck, but also by sea and air freight or by rail, e.g. via the New Silk Road. In addition to optimised route planning, IGS Schreiner relies on LNG trucks for better environmental compatibility; an LNG truck is used for the line haul to our Central Hub in Schlitz. IGS Schreiner has been part of our general cargo network since 2010.
The journey to Kleyling Spedition in Breisach am Rhein concluded this year’s audit tour. The forwarding company was founded in 1947 and has been an OSL partner since 2019. At the site, it is clear to see that environmental friendliness is an important concern. It is equipped with a photovoltaic system, electric forklift trucks, and its own electric charging stations, including ones for e-bicycles. The freight forwarder also demonstrates its responsibility for the future with sustainable inland waterway and rail transport. Furthermore, the company inspires young people to join the industry, with apprenticeships and work-study programmes on offer.
