Rehearsing for an emergency but hoping it will never happen – we conducted a test alarm at our Central Hub I (ZUB I) last week to practice how to respond in an emergency. To make the drill as realistic as possible, the staff was not informed that it was “just” a test. Only the firefighters were in on it so that they could respond quickly if a real emergency occurred. The result: within just three minutes the whole building was empty: all 100 people – office and shop-floor employees as well as drivers – had evacuated it calmly and orderly.
