Surprise! Unannounced visits are not always a reason to be happy. But when Damian Voß, Plant Manager of the OSL Central HUB, and our OSL Quality Manager Silke Schulze turn up at the OSL North-Hub without prior notice, we actually ‘keep to ourselves’. During the obligatory tour of the hall, the two of them were interested in, for example, how well the Quentic system for digitalised vehicle inspection works. This involves checking and digitally logging the correct ADR equipment of the lorries for the transport of dangerous goods, after which the dangerous goods documents are uploaded to Quentic. The result: everything is tip-top! The surprise guests were also very satisfied with the other processes during overnight handling: All shipments leave the hall on time, nothing is left behind, the loading rate for scheduled consignments is 99.99 per cent. The employees comply with the HUB regulations in an exemplary manner. ADR consignments are transported correctly and the flow of information to the OSL centre runs smoothly.
There was also a reason to celebrate: North-Hub Coordinator Leon Drögemeier successfully completed his training as a dangerous goods officer. We congratulate him and the entire Nord-Hub team on their great performance.
By the way: Our North-Hub in Porta Westfalica has been in operation since April 2019. Together with the South-Hub in Nördlingen and the West-Hub in Bottrop, the regional hubs complement our fully utilised central hub in Schlitz. By handling goods in the region, we also reduce unnecessary distances, emissions and costs.
