Multimodal transport is the current trend. Our system partners Knubben Spedition and Artur Möller have ideal locations for this. Knubben Spedition is in Mannheim’s inland port on the Upper Rhine, around 150 metres from the DUSS rail terminal and Contargo, and close to the A6 and A61 motorways left and right of the Rhine.
As a founding partner, Knubben has been part of ONLINE Systemlogistik’s general cargo network from the outset – since 1995. Today, the haulage company’s environmentally friendly measures, from new engine technology in its vehicles, optimised route planning, and driver training to photovoltaic systems on the roofs, are just some of the things that set it apart. Our lead auditor and quality manager Andreas Nowotny was able to get a first-hand impression of this during the internal audit in January.
Before that, the audit round had taken him to our system partner Artur Möller in Voerde. That is where the Wesel-Datteln Canal flows into the Lower Rhine and the inland port of Emmelsum provides a link to the seaport of Rotterdam. The location also provides good connections to the hinterland by rail and roads – A3 and A59 – ideal for pan-European general cargo transport. In particular, the transport business with Great Britain has developed positively and will be further expanded this year. Artur Möller has been an OSL partner since 1996.
