They come from Hamburg, Bremen, Berlin and Frankfurt, from Lower Saxony and Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, North Rhine-Westphalia and the Netherlands – the OSL partners who handle their general cargo night after night at our regional hub north in Porta Westfalica. Just over a year ago, the north hub at our partner Meyer-Jumbo’s site moved into a new building complex with a 10,000 square metre hall, which was built on the existing premises. Of the total of 42 gates available in the new building, our partners currently use 20 for night-time transhipment.
We carry out regular quality audits at the north hub, as we do at the central hub in Schlitz near Fulda, the south hub in Nördlingen and the west hub in Bottrop. During the internal audit at the end of February, the new freight forwarding and logistics facility at the regional hub north impressed with its clearly defined processes and a well-structured system at all levels: All shipments leave the hall on time, nothing is left behind, and the loading rate for scheduled shipments is 99.99 per cent. Employees comply with hub regulations in an exemplary manner. ADR shipments are transported correctly and the flow of information to the OSL headquarters runs smoothly. We can only say: keep up the good work!
By the way: our partner Meyer-Jumbo has been operating the north hub for our general cargo network since April 2019! So we have (almost) made it through the ‘unlucky seventh year’.
