You don’t need a ladder to set the bar high. All it takes is high standards. The fact that our quality standards are so high is thanks to Marcella Rennecke. It’s hard to believe she’s retiring on 31 August!
Just recently, with her well-known – and somewhat feared – tenacity and her technical expertise, she championed our cause to ensure that this year we became the first general cargo network in Germany to be verified in accordance with the new ISO 14083 standard for the uniform recording and evaluation of CO2 emissions.
A truly remarkable achievement, as the new standard – with its complex formulas for calculating emissions and the vast amount of data that needs to be collected – places considerable demands on all those involved, not least the certification institutes themselves. This was uncharted territory for everyone. The fact that we succeeded nonetheless, and that ten OSL partners came on board as ‘pilots’, is down to Marcella Rennecke.
Of course, this is by no means all she has achieved in terms of ‘OSL quality’. As early as 2014, for example, thanks to her, ONLINE Systemlogistik became the first German general cargo cooperation to be certified by DEKRA to DIN EN 16258 – the then-new standard for the uniform calculation of energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions for a standardised CO2 footprint. A fantastic achievement resulting from her work!
Marcella Rennecke joined ONLINE Systemlogistik 18 years ago. In quality and environmental management, she quickly made a good name for herself with her incorruptible, rigorous eye, which was, however, always accompanied by a helpfully extended hand. During audits and partner onboarding sessions, she not only pointed out mistakes but also pitched in to rectify them. And in doing so, she won everyone over with her expertise and inspired them with her energy.
With this energy, she will now set out on her life ‘after OSL’. It will certainly not be a retirement, but a life that remains active – always striving for the best possible solution. We wish her all the very best from the bottom of our hearts! And we thank her for her tireless commitment and support.
Of course, we have ensured that the benchmark for quality management remains in place. Our proven QM team, comprising Andreas Nowotny, Silke Schulze and Gentian Stubla, will carry on to ensure this.
