Further donation for moorland project

17. October 2025

It is not (yet) possible to transport goods to their destinations without producing CO2 emissions. While we and our partners are working on various measures to reduce our transport emissions, we can also do something for climate protection in other areas. Preserving or restoring wetlands is particularly effective in reducing CO2 emissions.

Last year, we made a start and donated €85,000 – financed by our Green Cargo product – to support the rewetting of the Herrenmoor, a project run by the Schleswig-Holstein Nature Conservation Foundation (Stiftung Naturschutz Schleswig-Holstein). The project in the north was followed by one in the south in 2025: We provided €100,000 in support to the Aktion Zukunft+ initiative to renature the Brucker Moos moorland in Bavaria. According to Aktion Zukunft+, protecting and rewetting such moorland areas can save 20 to 50 tonnes of CO₂ equivalents per hectare annually.

We are delighted that we have now been able to ‘up the ante’ once again: Our ‘donations instead of giveaways’ campaign at the transport logistic trade fair in Munich and donations made on the occasion of our 30th anniversary raised over €11,000 for moorland renaturation.

A big thank you to our partners who support and promote this commitment. And respect for the organisations that initiate and implement such projects with their expertise and great dedication!
