Typical logistics professionals! Neither record-breaking heat nor World Cup fever deterred our partners from travelling to Nördlingen for the forwarding management meeting. There, we were guests of Döderlein Spedition, an OSL partner since 1995 and the operator of our South Hub.
To welcome the freight forwarding managers from Denmark, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Austria, Portugal, Switzerland, Spain, the Czech Republic and all over Germany, following an introduction to Döderlein, there was a brief presentation by our partner Garland, which is celebrating its 250th anniversary this year.
With temperatures reaching 35 degrees in the shade, the freight forwarding managers made their way through five different stations in the air-conditioned (!) logistics facility of Döderlein, a company within the Roman Mayer Logistik Group. Alongside the workshop on our new IT solution, there was also a panel discussion on the further development of our central hub. At other stations, team spirit and dexterity were called for: The tasks included putting together a jigsaw puzzle whilst blindfolded and building a tower using ropes (see photo). A guided tour of the logistics facility was, of course, also part of the programme – Roman Mayer made a point of popping by to say hello.
The most important aspect, of course, was the friendly, personal interaction. There were plenty of opportunities for this between the stations, during the coffee break and in the beer garden in the evening. And the football fans in our general cargo network weren’t left out either: from 10 pm onwards, we were on the edge of our seats watching the Germany v Ecuador match and keeping our fingers crossed for our team.
