Claims management made easy

Handling claims is about as well-liked as going to the dentist. Damages must be documented and declared according to precisely defined specifications if they are to be processed by the transport liability or cargo transportation insurance. Such is the case when a shipment is damaged or lost during transport or freight handling.

Luckily, damages are fairly rare. However, that also means that the routine is lacking when they do happen. That is why ONLINE Systemlogistik and the SVG insurance company came up with something to make claims processing easier for the OSL partners: a website with all the important information that explains the claims handling process step by step. All OSL partners can make use of this collection of information. “The pool of knowledge provides quick and simple assistance and is available at any time,” says Elke Laubinger, responsible for insurance and risk management at OSL. She put together the contents of the knowledge pool and provides OSL partners with support, especially in case of questions that go beyond a simple damage declaration.

Furthermore, together with SVG, she regularly holds training sessions for the OSL partners’ claims handlers. This week, for example, 21 colleagues are taking part in a two-day seminar providing basic and advanced training on this subject.
